Calling all tweens! Ackerman Sports & Fitness Center in Glen Ellyn is offering a “Tween Night” on April 13 from 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm. Kids ages 8-12 will enjoy interacting with friends while playing soccer and dodgeball. The evening will end with every tweens favorite food: pizza! Take a workshop, sign up for a class or drop in for open hours at your neighborhood pottery studio or art studio. Your local craft store is often another good spot for crafty tweens to learn new skills like sewing, knitting or crocheting. And just wandering through an art museum can also be lots of fun!
For your adventurous tween:
The more thrill-seeking type might enjoy indoor skydiving or indoor rock climbing. Places like Funtopia in Glenview and Main Event in Warrenville offer challenging ropes courses, climbing walls and more.

Tweens need to burn off energy, too! Try an indoor water park, ice skating rink, trampoline park, martial arts or ninja class. There are classes and training for every type of tween athlete out there, too, including soccer, volleyball, basketball, gymnastics and tennis! Yoga is another wonderful activity for tweens.
