Kidlist welcomes Grand Avenue Preschools to the group of amazing site sponsors! They have programs for children ages 2 years old all the way up to 5th grade. We invited them to tell you about what their family business has to offer and you are encouraged to call them or schedule a visit to find out more and check out their schools! Their summer camps were also recently featured in a division of the Chicago Tribune! Click here to read the article.
Since 1981, parents have trusted Grand Avenue Preschools as the important first step in their child’s education. Our program focuses on development of the whole child, fully preparing them academically, socially and emotionally for their elementary education years. Our goal is to nurture self-esteem and independence and to set the stage for future learning through a positive first experience at school.
In addition to social and emotional development, curriculum at Grand Avenue also includes math, language arts, natural sciences, music, art and fine/gross motor stimulation. Grand Avenue Directors keep in regular contact with local area grade schools to use the same teaching tools as they do, including Jolly Phonics© and Handwriting without Tears© to ensure a smooth transition to kindergarten. Our program is aligned with the Illinois Early Learning and Development standards, developed by the Illinois State Board of Education. Grand Avenue is also the only preschool in the area that is nationally accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA).
Grand Avenue offers programs for children ages two through 5th grade. Programs include Preschool for two through five-year old’s – full or half day (morning and afternoon options) and an extended lunch care program for three through five-year old’s which includes a hot, organic lunch. In addition, the school also offers Kindergarten enrichment programs and before/after school programs for children up to 5th grade.
Grand Avenue is a local, family owned business with owners who are on site at each location every day. The school is very proud to have a high retention rate of experienced teachers and each teacher at Grand Avenue receives 24 hours of in-service training per year plus Red Cross certification in first aid and CPR.
