This article is sponsored by Gixo, but all opinions are my own.
A friend told me about Gixo, a fitness app with both live workouts and on-demand options that include strength training, walking, running, yoga, stretching, and more. I’m excited about it! I have tried fitness videos on YouTube, but it’s hard to get in a routine and finding motivation. I like the accountability of Gixo. They have so many different classes and times and I can commit by signing up and being prompted to actually follow through!
Gixo’s mission is to make great, live workouts accessible to everyone. The mobile app offers up to 19 hours of live fitness classes daily plus 100s more on demand. The experience is a hybrid of a live studio workout and a workout video, with the engagement and community of a trainer-led live class combined with the convenience of a digital workout. You can workout from home, the office, their neighborhood, or the great outdoors — essentially turning phones into virtual gyms.
How Gixo Works
Open the app and look through the upcoming classes. Some are as short as 15 minutes! Sign up for the class and you will receive a text reminder before it starts so you can get some water, clear a space for yourself… whatever you want to do to get comfortable and ready. Since some of the instructors live in Europe, there are classes offered so many different times throughout the day and night, so I’m sure you’ll be able to find a time that works for you.
When the class starts, the instructor can see who is in the class and is able to give you real time feedback to encourage you to keep going, compliment your pace or improvement. Usually the goal is to beat your time from the previous segment. You can choose to turn your camera on so the instructor can see you (but not the other class participants), or off. There are also on-demand classes, which means they are pre-recorded so you won’t receive live feedback, but they are still great ways to get moving.
