The Fox Valley Nutcracker brings together a community of dancers from all over the Chicago suburbs and is a collaboration between young pre-professional dancers and professional dancers from around the world. It showcases professional dancers from Chicago Repertory Ballet, along with Chicago’s premiere ballet company, Ballet 5:8, and local dancers ages 5 through adult from 25 different dance studios in the Chicago suburbs from as far north as Algonquin to as far south as Plainfield. This year there will be more than 110 dancers in the production, including a couple of cast members with special needs.

“Families who live in the suburbs don’t have to travel far to see a full-professional production of the Nutcracker. Year after year, we like to bring new and fresh visual effects to our audience and keep them engaged throughout the entire production.”

Ashlie Andersen, Artistic Director of the Fox Valley Nutcracker

Ways The Fox Valley Nutcracker Gives Back

The Fox Valley Nutcracker is more than just a weekend performance. Fox Valley Ballet is a 501c3 organization so when you purchase tickets for the show you are also supporting our local community! The performers give back to the community by volunteering and participating in local events. Characters from the show visit the pediatric department at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, IL, and hand out gifts to the children there and they also perform and cook meals for the families at the Ronald McDonald House. Leading up to The Fox Valley Nutcracker performance, you can see the performers at the Winter Lights Parade on November 22, 2019 in Aurora.
