Radio-controlled giant scale model airshow honoring the 75th anniversary of D-Day.
This June 20-22nd, Fox Valley Aero Club is hosting its 6th annual Windy City Warbirds & Classics. This event is truly a one of a kind experience, these remote-control planes are flown by some of the most skilled hobbyists in the country and are a breathtaking sight to see with up to six planes in the air at a time. The planes are scale models of the aircraft that flew during WWI, the golden age of aviation, WWII and modern jets.
Special noon-time shows will be presented on Friday and Saturday. This show will include notable aircraft from different times throughout history as well as a candy drop for kids! After the show, you will be able to see the aircraft up close and talk to the pilots who build and fly these marvelous aircraft.
It is recommended to bring your own chairs or blankets, as bleacher seating is limited. Food vendors will be present as well. Parking is free and adult admission is only $5, admission for kids under 12 is FREE as well as veterans and active service members.
