Fire Department Open House

FreeThe Village of Western Springs Fire Department will be holding the annual Fire Prevention Open house on Monday, October 9, from 6 – 8 pm at Fire Station 1 on Wolf Road. This event will kick off Fire Prevention Week which runs October 8 – 14, sponsored by The National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA).
Sparky the fire dog reminds everyone to, “Pay attention to fire prevention,” as he promotes this year’s cooking safety theme. Kids can display their skills by taking the Firefighter Challenge, using the fire hose to put out a “real” fire, and sliding down a firepole! There will also be fire engine rides, a live sprinkler demonstration, and many other exhibits. Bring the kids, of all ages to have fun and learn about fire safety.
