Virtual IOC on Weekends: Kindness Kits for the Homeless
April 18, 2020, 10:00 am - 10:45 am
Help care for those in need by making a kindness kit for the homeless!
Now is a wonderful time to help others in need! For this virtual event, we’ll be making kindness kits filled with pretzels, sanitizer wipes, tissues, toothbrushes and toothpaste, handmade cards and love to be donated to Hesed House. Kids will also enjoy a story and conversation with other kids in the event around how we can all help others, even from home.
Taking time to practice gratitude and give back will provide a positive mental health boost for you and your family.
Character Trait: Kindness
Social Cause: Being Socially Responsible
Nonprofit Partner: Hesed House
How will this virtual event work?
Register –> pick up supplies –> participate via Zoom –> drop off donation item –> receive a video of the donation being delivered
It is $10 per child and we have supplies for 15 children. Space is limited! You must register to reserve your spot(s).
Please Note: If you live too far way to pick-up the supplies, but would still like to participate in the video-learning portion of the event, you can register for the Zoom only participation for $5 per child.
By registering you are agreeing to our release/waiver. If you are unable to afford the registration fee, please contact Marion Ruthig at firstname.lastname@example.org and she’ll be happy to register you for free.
PICK UP SUPPLIES
Supply pick-up will be at the Executive Director for Inside Out Club DuPage’s house, which is about a mile west of downtown Naperville, Illinois. The address will be emailed to you when you register. Supplies will be available for pick-up on the porch starting at noon the Wednesday before the event – April 15th.
A Zoom link will be emailed to participants the morning of the event. Please be sure that email@example.com is not set to go to your spam folder.
DROP-OFF YOUR KINDNESS KITS
We ask that your completed kindness kits are dropped back off to where you picked up the supplies by the next Wednesday, April 22nd.
We’ll record our trip to Hesed House and send you a link, so that your family can experience the delivery virtually!
Please contact Marion Ruthig at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Inside Out Club DuPage (formerly I Support Community) started in September 2012 after seeing the overwhelming need for children to possess a strong foundation in character and community. Our mission is to develop kids with character inside and out. Learn more at www.insideoutclub.org.
