April 20, 2020, 10:00 am - 10:30 am

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 10:00 am, repeating until April 24, 2020

It’s time for NEC’s annual Musical Storytelling Showcase! During April vacation week, we will roll out a new video each morning at 11 a.m., featuring “meet the instrument” and musical storytelling sessions.

While we are unable to gather together during this time of social distancing, NEC is excited to share a virtual version of our popular spring event for young children & families.

Each video showcases the unique creative work of one of NEC’s Musical Storytelling Fellows, who spent the school year training as teaching artists in preschools and early elementary classrooms through NEC’s Community Performances & Partnerships program.
While best suited for children ages 3 – 7 years old, listeners of all ages are most welcome to join the fun!
New videos released at 10 a.m., Monday through Friday, April 20 – 24, 2020. Video sessions will range from 20-40 minutes each.

CPP interacts annually with close to 21,000 people through over 600 events that reach across ages, neighborhoods, ethnicities, and economic disparities in the city of Boston and beyond. CPP simultaneously provides NEC students with a crucial opportunity to explore what it means to be a musician living in and contributing to community life, within an atmosphere of supportive mentoring, professional development, and experiential learning.
