Join the Oak Lawn Park District as we celebrate the journey of the Monarch butterfly to Mexico! This award-winning festival brings much needed awareness to the issues that this magnificent creature faces today and will show you how you can assist in the preservation of the Monarch butterfly species. Join us at the Oak View Center for fun recreational activities that will include butterfly arts and crafts for kids, an interactive puppet theatre, music, and much more! There will also be live butterfly tagging, a bug zoo, caterpillar aquarium, and a movie shown in our very own theatre on the butterfly’s migration to Mexico. We will be offering everyone the opportunity to purchase milkweed plants for $1 to help save the Monarch butterfly. Bring the family out for this fun festival and get involved in an important cause to help ensure that our future generations get to experience the beauty of our state butterfly, the Monarch butterfly! This event is both indoors and outdoors and will run rain or shine.
