Celebrating Halloween Lemont-Style

September 24 to October 18: β€œTrail of Scarecrows” Competition!
Theme: Fairytale Characters | VOTE For Your Favorite Scarecrow
September 10: Stake pick-ups at Lemont Township Community Center.
September 24: Drop off participating scarecrows to the Township Center between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. to the Lemont Community Center at 16300 Alba Street. Everyone is invited to participate in voting through October 18. Winners will be contacted by October 20. Cash prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place. September 30 & October 1: β€œSpirits of the Limestone”
Lemont Historical Society (The Old Stone Church), 6:30 p.m.
Two special presentations, Friday and Saturday: a presentation and discussion on Lemont’s paranormal past. All guests will receive their own ghost detecting devices to bring home.

October 1: Halloween Blood Drive
Lemont Park District Campus, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Roll up your sleeves, donate blood and help save some lives…

October 1: Fire District Open House
Fire Station One, 15900 New Avenue, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Fire Prevention Week runs from October 9 – October 15 and this year’s theme is β€œLearn the Sounds of Fire Safety. Get into the Lemontster Days spirit this October and decorate a small pumpkin, too! All are welcome. For Lemont businesses, you are welcome to set up a business/agency table and join us for the afternoon. October 1: The Witch’s Brew: Reading & Brew Making (Family Friendly!)
Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend Street, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

October 7: Drive-In Movie | Ghostbusters: Afterlife
Lemont Park District Centennial Park, (South Quad Parking Lot)

October 8: Witches Walk
Historic Downtown Lemont, 5:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.
Ladies, get dressed up and join us for drinks, cackles & treats on our annual β€œspirits” walk in downtown Lemont. After the walk, you can invite your favorite Warlock for the Witches Ball – with food, drink, live music and dancing. Details and registration information at www.MyHCBA.com or call 630.257.5997. October 15: Trick or Treat Trail | Ages 2 – 12 Only
Lemont Park District Centennial Park, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Multiple Time Slots Available. Must Register in Advance! Registration #860902-A1 through A8 (dependent on time slot). Join the fun at the Trick or Treat Trail! Participants will enjoy walking the trail around the Centennial Park path, receiving treats on the trail that can ensure safe fun! Be sure to wear your Halloween costume and bring your own trick-or-treating bags. All children must pre-register for a time slot. ONE adult permitted per child. 50 children per time slot. October 21: Hocus Pocus Movie Night
Lemont Historical Society Museum, 7:00 p.m. | Doors Open at 6:30 p.m.
306 Lemont Street. Come see the Old Stone Church magically transform into Salem and watch the Halloween cult classic Hocus Pocus. The 1993 Disney hit is fun for all ages! Enjoy Hocus Pocus themed treats and even an appearance by everyone’s favorite worst witch –Winifred Sanderson! October 22: Village of Lemont’s Halloween Hoedown
Historic Downtown Lemont, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
12:30 p.m. Line-Up for Parade & Costume Contest
FREE Event. Line-Up at 12:30 p.m. (Location TBD) for our annual Costume Contest & Parade followed by Trick or Treating at participating merchants and more! Take some Frightening Photos with our fun backdrop! For more information, call (630) 243-2700.

October 24: Craft Night of the Living Dead
Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend Street, 4:00 p.m.
Zombify dolls to your heart’s discontent. Tweens/teens can use acrylic paints to decorate dolls and the doll clothing to resemble zombies or other monsters. For more information, visit www.lemontlibrary.org.

October 30: Trick-or-Treat
Lemont Public Library, 50 E. Wend Street, All Day

October 31: Happy Halloween! Trick-or-Treat!
Village Trick-or-Treat Hours, 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Turn your porch light on if you welcome trick-or-treaters.

Fill the bag with goodies (much needed items listed below) that will fill the shelves of our Lemont Food Pantries! Drop off donations to Lemont Police Department; Village Hall entry (416 Main Street); Starbucks; or Jewel (bin near customer service counter). Any questions? The Lemont Park District invites you to join in on some ghoulishly good fun… decorate your Lemont residence for Halloween! Great prizes will be awarded.

Registration is FREE and must be completed by October 26 at the Lemont Park District.

Decorations must be up by October 26.
Winners will be announced on October 29 on Lemont Park District social media and Lemont Patch.
