Hidden Oaks Sneak Peak for Earth Day
April 23, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Celebrate Earth Day by getting a sneak peek of the forest preserve’s newest nature center – Hidden Oaks. The nature center was acquired from the Bolingbrook Park District earlier this year and will become a destination for nature education and recreational engagement in the northern part of the county.
Join us to tour the campus area, including the trails outside the building. Peek inside the nature center to view current exhibits and live animals and get a glimpse of some of the District’s preliminary plans for the site. Meet the staff and ask questions, participate in a nature-based scavenger hunt, enjoy a bonfire with tasty marshmallows, make and take a native seed bomb and have fun with some classic outdoor play! See if you can hit all the activities in recognition of Earth Day and earn a prize! Fee: Free! Age: All ages. No registration required.
Hidden Oaks Nature Center is an accessible facility. Outdoor activities will be on paved and natural surfaces across uneven terrain. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service to participate in this program should submit a request online (https://www.reconnectwithnature.org/americans-with…) no later than 48 hours before the program.
