Hack the Jack Pumpkin Carving Contest
October 20, 2017
An event every day that begins at 12:00 am, repeating until October 22, 2017
This October, the Naperville Jaycees are presenting “Hack the Jack,” the area’s first pumpkin carving contest. Hack the Jack, will give contestants the chance to compete for cash prizes based on the first, second and third place pumpkin winners. The more people who enter to compete and vote, the larger the cash pot grows.
From Friday, Oct. 20-Oct. 22, Naper Settlement will display pumpkins submitted for the contest and voting will begin. Pumpkins receiving first, second and third place votes win a cash prize, and those who voted for those pumpkins will have their names drawn to win cash as well.
The pumpkin carving competition is open to all ages. The submission price is $15 and all pumpkins must be submitted Thursday, October 19 from 4:30-9 p.m. in the parking lot behind the Martin Mitchell building at Naper Settlement. Tickets for voting can be purchased online at www.naperjaycees.org/hackthejack or at the event. Tickets are $5 each and give the voter three chances to win. Bulk ticketing is also available. Winners will be announced at Naperville Plaza on October 28.
Naperville Jaycee Bill Donofrio, the competition’s lead coordinator is excited about bringing a new event to the area and hopes it sparks creativity with people of all ages.
“I think this will be a fun event for both adults and kids to participate in. Naper Settlement is the best location for this and has been really great to let us join in the fun of All Hallow’s Eve,” Donofrio said. All Hallow’s Eve is Naper Settlement’s popular Halloween event taking place at the same time. Visit www.napersettlement.org for more information.
