From Atlatl to Archery: Ancient Hunting Technologies
March 30, 11:00 am - 3:00 pm$5
Do you have what it takes to bring down a mastodon or a bison? Participants in this off-site workshop will learn about different tools used to hunt big game in this area before the arrival of modern weapons. Learn about a spear-throwing device called an atlatl, which helped ancient hunters throw spears harder and further. Kids can test their archery skills with a bow and arrow. Presented by Elmhurst History Museum staff in collaboration with DuPage Forest Preserve District. Appropriate for ages 8 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
