Riverside July 4th Festivities

July 4, 2023, 7:30 am - 1:00 pm

Free

On Tuesday, July 4th, we’ll start the day with our 45th Annual Independence Day 5k race at 7:30am! If you have already registered, be sure to be at the starting line before 7:30am to ensure you don’t miss the race start. If you have not yet registered, you’re in luck! Online registration will remain available until July 2nd at 5:00pm and Race Day registration will be available Monday morning from 6:30 – 7:15am. If you plan to register Race Day, the fee will be $40. Awards will follow the conclusion of the 5k race in Centennial Park near the Water Tower.

At 8:45am, our Annual Independence Day Parade will begin! This year’s parade theme is “Friends, family, and fun by your Riverside!” The parade will begin at Big Ball Park and head South down Longcommon Rd. The parade will end at Guthrie Park. Feel free to snag your spot along the parade route! For your safety, please ensure that you are remaining off the street. Anyone seated or standing on the street will be asked to move to ensure all vehicles can safely drive through.

At the conclusion of the Parade, we will have our Festival in the Park at Guthrie Park. There will be brats, face painting, lemonade and more! And don’t forget about our Tot Trot taking place at 11:00am. Just because some of our friends are too small to run the 5k doesn’t mean they can’t have a race of their own! The Festival in the Park will conclude at 1:00pm.
