Dr. Michaeleen Doucleff: Hunt, Gather, Parent: What Ancient Cultures Can Teach Us About the Lost Art of Raising Happy Helpful Little Humans

November 3, 2021, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free
As NPR Science correspondent Michaeleen Doucleff traveled globally with her young daughter, she discovered that the oldest cultures in the world had mastered the art of raising happy, well-adjusted children, and had much to teach us those of us at home. Without resorting to bribes, threats, or chore charts, the caregivers in three of the world’s most venerable communities; Maya families in Mexico, Inuit families above the Arctic Circle, and Hadzabe families in Tanzania seem to have developed a remarkably effective approach for teaching children emotional intelligence and self-control. This free event is open to the public and anyone can join.
