The Village of Homewood proudly hosts Homewood’s Chocolate Fest on Feb. 17 from 11 AM to 2 PM. This year’s festival features baking demonstrations, children’s activities, science demonstrations, vendor booths and a variety of sweets, desserts and gourmet baked goods. Back by popular demand is the annual Chocolate Bake-Off Contest for professional and amateur bakers as they compete for title of “Home Sweet Homewood’s Master Pastry Chef.” This free event is located in the H-F Park District Auditorium, 2010 Chestnut Road.
During Chocolate Fest, Homewood Science Center hosts PopUP Science “Sweet Shoppe Science and Math.” Visitors choose from three flavorful and fun activities; a hot chocolate math facts game, an M&M balancing scale activity or test a variety of chocolate bars’ buoyancy in sink or swim experiments. Plus, the Homewood Science Center presents the chocolate lover’s classic film “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” in the Michael Wexler Theater. In addition, The Homewood Community Relations hosts a free apron decorating activity for kids. The Homewood Science Center is located at 18022 Dixie Highway.
