Alma Dance Theater 2018 Simply Classic Series

June 2, 2018, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

$20 – $28

Alma Dance Theater will present its 3rd annual Simply Classic Series at the McAninch Arts Center (MAC) in Glen Ellyn on Saturday June 2nd at 7:00 p.m. This production includes excerpts from Majisimo, Peasant Pas de Quatre from Giselle and a Suite of Le Corsaire and will feature internationally renowned guest artists. One of our biggest goals as a not-for-profit is to ensure that our performances are accessible to all the children in our community. This year we are happy to partner with DuPage Children’s Museum to give local children the opportunity to participate in our professional production.

Excerpts from three ballets will be presented in this breathtaking professional production. Featured guest artists include Amaya Rodriguez, Humberto Rivera Blanco, and Javier Omar Morales Barrios, former principal dancers with the Cuban National Ballet and currently dancing with the Kansas City Ballet. Dayneliz Muñoz, and Jose Lozada, both are former principal dancers with the Cuban National Ballet. Muñoz danced with the Tulsa Ballet and currently freelances as a dancer. Lastly, we are fortunate to have Elivelton Tomazi currently dancing with The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago. Students from the prestigious Alma Dance School will make appearances in the production and share the stage with professionals. This magical production will appeal to all who appreciate the arts, from the ballet enthusiast to the novice dancer. Enjoy an evening of culture and beauty at the MAC.
