October 7, 2017, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pmFree
Grab your Lederhosen and head to Rack House’s 1st annual Smoketoberfest, inspired by the world’s most exciting German festival. The restaurant’s parking lot and Beer Garden will “haus” the most festive and authentic all-day Oktoberfest celebration this side of Munich on Saturday, October 7 from 1-5 p.m.
Rack House will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the event to the 100 Club of Chicago whose mission is to provide for the families of first responders who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
National Stein Hoisting Competition
Rack House has teamed up with Sam Adams to take part in their National Stein Hoisting Competition in search of “America’s Stein Hoister of the Year”. Entrants will compete by holding a liter stein filled with liquid by a straight ninety-degree arm. Once the entrants’ elbow bends, spills or drops the stein the entrant loses. One male and one female winner from Smoketoberfest will advance to the semi-finals in Grant Park, followed by the finals in Boston.
Revelers can say ‘prost’ with $5 draft and bottles of Sam Adams Oktoberfest, Two Brothers Atom Smasher, Pollyanna Brewing Company FruHauf and in honor of The 100 Club of Chicago, Main Street Brewing Off Duty Lager.
Chef Bryant Anderson will put his spin on Oktoberfest grub including Chef Martin’s Old World Weisswurst and Knackwurst Sausages, Oak Smoked Pulled Pork, Mac & Cheese with smoked cheddar, German Potato Salad and Homemade Giant Pretzels. Food items will range from $5-10 each.
Kids of all ages can join in on the festivities with a complimentary bounce house and tattoos.
Lucky attendees will also have the chance to win raffle and door prizes including Rack House BBQ sauces, gift cards and more!
Smoketoberfest will be on Saturday, October 7 from 1 to 5 p.m. with free entry and cash or credit will be available for food and drink purchases.
Rack House will be open for regular dining 11 a.m. to 12 a.m.
